The Penn State Alumni AssociationWhat’s been happening: Almost eight years have passed since my husband, Kermit Anderson, class of '65, was killed in the terrorist attack on the World Trade Center 9/11/01. If you ever get to the University Park campus, visit McAllister and admire the magnificent sculpture placed there in memory of him. Since that day, I have spent much time visiting our 2 daughters and 5 grandsons. Barbara, our older daughter, is married to an Air Force Lieutenant Colonel and her family is presently living in Colorado Springs. Debbie has just moved to State College with her family where her husband has accepted a position as an associate professor at Penn State. It will great fun to have them nearby. In May of 2004, I met a wonderful man while line dancing here in State College. (See photo.) Syd, originally from Tennessee, is a retired submariner. In Sept. 2002, he lost his wife to cancer. We were married 11/05 and keep busy with travel, sports, concerts, and theater. State College is a great place to be retired! May all of my Penn State friends stay safe and make every day count as no one knows what the future holds for you or for any of us. |
